Dream Downtown – Out of this World

Nestled between the über fashionable Meatpacking district – home to a slew of chic bars, clubs, shops and restaurants – and the captivatingly charming Chelsea, lies Dream Downtown New York.

This unconventional, yet stylish, space – owned by the Vikram Chatwal Hotel Group and whose sister hotels include the Dream New York (located in Midtown) and the Dream South Beach – is the perfect place to rest your eyes, refuel your body, enjoy a quick dip or take five on the deck before pounding the pavements of the Big Apple.  With New York hotels, location is paramount and visitors to Dream Downtown are lucky enough to be just a short walking distance from Union Square, Chelsea Market and The Hudson River.

When it comes to design, the Dream Downtown is not only modern, it is positively futuristic. With its stainless steel outer surface cut with varying sized circular windows, this hotel manages to look original and aesthetically divergent even against the diverse architecture of New York. And this trend continues inside to the bedrooms.

Small silver disc-effect wallpaper lines the feature walls of the 315 loft-style guest rooms and suites (ranging from 225 square-feet to 2000 square-feet), with other futuristic accents including stainless steel lamp shades and chainmail shower curtains. What’s more, with their 40-inch flat screen LED televisions, decked out mini bars and 350-thread-count Egyptian cottonsheets, each room exudes pleasure, relaxation and effortless flair.

If you can drag yourself out of bed in the morning (it’s called the Dream for a reason), then make sure you head to the Dream Beach and Pool. With its 50-foot heated swimming pool (complete with glass bottom views of the hotel lobby) authentic wood decking, plush greenery and lazy day chaise lounges; the outside scene is idyllic, exclusive, peaceful and oh-so-enticing. In fact, if it wasn’t for the iconic NYC skyline in the background, you would completely forget that the bustling city is just metres away.

The Dream Downtown might be all relaxation in the day but when night falls, it is another story entirely. To start your evening, have a bite to eat at Marble Lane, Chef Manuel Trevino’s steakhouse-come-supper club. Next, head up to PH-D, Dream’s Rooftop Lounge. With its panoramic views of the city, Italian porto marble, Venini glass chandeliers and state-of-the-art audio system, this venue can take youthrough the night from after dinner cocktails to the bartender’s last call. No wonder then that, when the weekend arrives, hundreds of New York twenty-somethings flock to PH-D to be part of the night’s festivities.

So, whether it’s the quirky and distinctive architecture, the deliciously American cuisine, the siren call of PH-D or the California-esque Beach Club; the Dream Downtown’s credentials go on and on. Make sure you get your slice and book a visit now.
