How to Feel Like a Badass In Your Skin

Sometimes our skin does us no favors, especially if it is dry or sensitive. Here are 5 easy tips to say goodbye to discomfort and regain a youthful skin.

  1. Moisturize Your Skin

Tightness and discomfort are often signs of dehydration. It is thus necessary to bring enough water to the skin daily. In the morning and evening (especially when you get out of the shower), apply a cream all over your body, paying special attention to particularly dry areas (elbows, feet, hands, knees) and enjoy this moment of well-being. Of course, don’t forget the face, for which you should choose a cream that is not necessarily very rich but rather thirst-quenching, whatever the skin type (an oily skin will not become more oily if we moisturize it a lot, quite the contrary). And for a dose of comfort at any time of the day, slip a hand cream in your bag!

In fact a cream should always be handy if you have drier skin or if you have recently gotten new tattoos. But it is a good idea to have one during dry summer months, but in that case make sure that any cream that you use contains SPF as the sun is the worst enemy of the skin!

  1. Rinse off

When you get out of the shower and after cleaning your face, beware of limescale. Tap water is a real false friend, drying out the skin enormously and causing tightness, redness and dryness lines. So don’t hesitate to use thermal or mineral water to rinse off any residue, at least on the face. Cosmetic pads are also your friend, don’t shy away to gentle tap your face after a shower!

  1. Take care of your hygiene

Scrubs, exfoliating masks, anti-acne creams, stripping cleansers and other abrasive products are violent for our skin. So be careful not to use them too often.

In the shower, opt for lukewarm water (sudden changes in temperature are harmful to the skin) and an oily shower gel for maximum comfort. Afterwards, applying a body butter like the one from Uncle Bud’s Hemp that is high in vitamins A, D and E is an excellent way to treat your skin. It leaves the skin soft, moisturized and, of course, scented!

Beware also of synthetic clothes that are either too thick or too tight, whose friction can cause dryness and discomfort.

  1. Take care of your diet

For restored hydration and healthy skin, it is recommended to drink a lot of water, but also to adopt a very specific diet. Essential fatty acids (omega 3 and 6) as well as trace elements (selenium, vitamin A, C and E) are preferred. There are also food supplements available for this purpose.

  1. Breathe consciously

Feeling good about yourself also means getting rid of stress and the little worries of everyday life. So, every day, we allow ourselves some time to relax. In the evening, before going to bed for example, we organize a small ritual under the sign of well-being. Apply your cream with delicate massages, take deep breaths, enjoy some herbal tea… And why not start meditating to chase away negative thoughts? The key is to have a healthy mind in a healthy body.
