The 1883 Lovesick Playlist
Billie Eilish pens a song for the next Bond film, Kim Petras can’t get away from being reminded of her ex, and Caity Krone is just trying to sort the day out in this week’s 1883 playlist.
Happy Valentine’s Day to you from 1883! This week we have some love-induced tracks about different forms of intimacy, which includes everything from falling in love with your dominatrix to letting a lover know the songs they’ve penned for their exes will outlast them.
This week, Caroline Rose released the second single from her upcoming LP, Superstar, which is called ‘Freak Like Me’, and the track compares and contrasts the delicate melody with jarring lyrics about falling in love with a dominatrix. Kim Petras released ‘Reminds Me’, a song about not being able to do much because everything you try to do reminds you of your ex. Rising singer/songwriter Caity Krone finds herself finally above water after drowning in the feelings and memories of someone else in her stunning single ‘Thank You for the Sunday Paper’.
Also featured is Mr Eazi, who shows he’ll wait all day for his lover in ‘Kpalanga’, Jensen McRae takes aim at a guy who isn’t treating her right in ‘White Boy’, and Joseph Lawrence and The Garden speak directly to their ‘Goddess’.
