Drawing on pioneering director Agnes Varda’s love of documentary filmmaking, steeped in female activism and peppered with fiction, this editorial explores the function of folklore acting as an adaptable style of documentary for a land and its people.

Using photographer and art director Olivia Williams‘s own Welsh heritage, the reimagine the ancient tale of Blodeuwedd through a contemporary lens that brings bodily autonomy and the rejection of purposeful creation to the forefront of this rebellious tale.
