1883 On Rotation: Veps, Ginge, Rihanna

The latest in new music from Veps, GINGE, The Hunna, Rihanna & more on this week’s 1883 playlist.

On rotation this week is the debut single from artist and producer ISHA, the Amsterdam native is hugely influenced by the London Jazz scene, soul, hip-hop, and R&B. The multi-instrumentalist’s debut single By Surprise is a sleek funk-infused tune and features guest vocals from Meron T. Expect her debut EP in the near future. 1883’s latest front cover is with art-punk rockers Palaye Royale and they’ve just dropped their anticipated new record Fever Dream. WDIA (Would Do it Again) is the brand new song from Armenian artist Rosa Linn. It’s a catchy pop song and features additional vocals from Duncan Laurence. The Oslo-based four-piece Veps have returned with their latest musical offering, A Show Of Hands. The track is a hook-laden gem that is raw, distinctive and mesmerising. Thematically the band say it’s a “song about loneliness”. The band’s debut album Oslo Park is out November 18th.  

Elsewhere in the playlist, GINGE cements herself as an extremely exciting new artist with new EP, Bummer. The Dutch artist blends together R&B, pop and neo-soul and the EP’s lead track, Take My Picture, is a goddamn bop. The vocals and sonics are sublime, keep an eye on this emerging artist. The Hunna are back with their self-titled third studio album. Sonically, the album is a fantastic burst of punk-rock energy, and 90s + 00s influences. Listen to the latest track to be taken from the album, FUGAZI. The Hunna are headlining London’s Electric Ballroom on November 4th. Talented Gen-Z artist Chloe Moriondo dropped her album earlier this month and we finally caught up with the singer-songwriter, read the interview by clicking here. The pop superstar is finally back with the understated and gorgeous tune, Life Me Up. It’s lifted from the soundtrack of the highly anticipated new Marvel film, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.
