The latest in new music, curated by the 1883 team.

The latest in new music from The Black Keys, James Bay, d4vd, Erin LeCount & more in this week’s 1883 On Rotation playlist.

On rotation this week is the new single from the Grammy award-winning rock duo, The Black Keys. Their new tune “The Night Before” is out now via Easy Eye Sound and Warner Records. It’s an infectious, airy track with soulful vocals and crispy funky beats. Its lifted from their forthcoming 13th studio record No Rain, No Flowers which arrives later this year. Catch them on a UK tour in July.

Previous 1883 Magazine cover star James Bay has shared “Sunshine In The Room” with Jon Batiste. It’s a feel-good, uplifting indie-pop track with gorgeous vocals from both artists. The song follows on from his fourth studio album Changes All The Time which landed in October last year. He’s currently embarking on a big UK headline tour and will play at the OVO Arena Wembley on Thursday. Read our cover story by clicking here.

Emerging pop artist Bea and her Business has shared the cathartic release, “We’re Not The Same”. The song boasts powerful vocals, bright production, and introspective lyricism. Thematically, the song is about growing apart from a childhood best friend.  The songwriter is already off to a flying start this year, having been named in Amazon’s Artists to Watch and nominated for MTV Push for the UK and Ireland.

American duo Sleigh Bells are back. The genre-defying duo, made up of Alexis Krauss and Derek Miller, have shared the new track “Wanna Start A Band?”. It is full of glam metal, stabbing synths, and in-your-face beats. Sleigh Bells will embark on a string of US dates from May 7 onwards.

D4vd is back with the cinematic track “One More Dance”. The song boasts enthralling vocals, electronic textures, romantic soundscapes, tender strings, and more. It is lifted from his forthcoming debut record WITHERED which lands on April 25 via Darkroom and Interscope. Since starting his career only a couple of years ago, the songwriter has racked up over a billion streams on viral tracks like “Romantic Homicide” and “Here With Me”.

Rapidly growing artist and producer Erin LeCount has released the new track “Silver Spoon”. It’s an alt-pop gem with flawless vocals, electronic drums, polished production, and moments of raw emotion. Inspired by the likes of genre-blurring artists like Fiona Apple, Imogen Heap, and FKA Twigs, LeCount is an exciting talent to keep an eye on.

Swedish singer-songwriter Winona Oak has shared her new EP Salt alongside the focus track, “It’s Not My Fault”. It’s a gentle yet empowering anthem with gorgeous vocals and delicate electronic production. The four-track is full of glistening electro-pop tracks.

Finally, the acclaimed singer-songwriter and pianist Neal Francis has shared the second taste from his third studio record, Return To Zero. “Need You Again” is a funk-driven track with guest spots from Grammy-winning guitarist Eric Krasno and beguiling backing vocals from Brooklyn-based disco trio Say She She. It’s a fun, groove-driven tune. Return To Zero releases on March 14 via ATO Records.
