Enjoy the Essence of Seaside Bliss with These Elegant Resorts in Europe
1. Coastal Charms of the Algarve
Nestled amid the fragrant pine forests of the Algarve, Pine Cliffs Resort offers a dynamic blend of nature and luxury. Our days began with energising rounds of golf on the cliff top course, where the ocean views were spectacular. The resort’s private access to Falésia Beach became our haven – we’d stroll down the scenic walkway, savouring the panoramic views of the Mediterranean.
Although we didn’t come with our little ones, the resort’s family-friendly vibe would’ve been perfect for them. There’s endless joy at the Porta Pirata children’s village and sports activities.
We marked our evenings at the Pine Cliffs with a taste of traditional Portuguese dishes at the resort’s restaurants, followed by champagne toasts while overlooking the majestic cliffs.
The resort also offers plenty of accommodation options, but our favourite was the luxury villas with fully equipped kitchens. There are also classic guest rooms and suites with an ocean outlook.
2. Forte Village, Sardinia
As we stepped onto the golden sands of Forte Village in Sardinia, we were immediately captivated by the breathtaking beauty surrounding us. During our stay at the Forte Village, we spent our mornings lounging by the sea and taking refreshing dips. Afternoons were a whirlwind of adventure — from exploring the scenic landscapes on rented 4×4 vehicles to joining exciting sporting academies like the Real Madrid Football Academy if you are a football fanatic.
As the sun dipped below the horizon, the resort transformed into a culinary paradise, offering an array of restaurants where we indulged in exquisite Sardinian cuisines.
3. Andalusian Elegance on the Costa del Sol
Our trip to Puente Romano in Costa del Sol was an immersion into the vibrant energy of Marbella. The resort’s lively atmosphere was accompanied by the soothing sound of the waves, creating a perfect blend of excitement and relaxation. We spent most of our days sipping cocktails by the pool, enjoying the stunning pool bar and indulging in culinary delights at the 12 restaurants. A highlight was dining at the award-winning Leña Marbella steakhouse with breathtaking coastal views.
We couldn’t resist the Six Senses Spa, which offered a sanctuary of calm where authentic southern Spanish architecture harmonised with natural healing treatments. For a dose of local culture, I explored Marbella’s charming tavernas and revelled in the traditional Spanish feel that made Costa del Sol an unforgettable destination.
4. Nobu Hotel Ibiza Bay, Ibiza
The night can be as young as you want at the uber-chic Nobu Hotel Ibiza Bay resort. Located in Talamanca Bay, just a 20-minute walk outside Ibiza’s Old Town, we enjoyed the best of both worlds here.
The beach resort has all the amenities to make your stay comfortable, including suites and bars. It also has a high-speed internet connection, meaning that when you retire to your hotel room after a fun-filled day, you might indulge in other web-based entertainment, such as e-sports, casino games or learn a new language on Duolingo. However, we wonder if you’ll get the time to do any of that with all the exhausting fun Ibiza offers.
There’s also the exclusive Nobu restaurant, eateries and holistic spa, with a separate family area and swimming pool for the kids to enjoy their first slice of Balearic life. From sushi making to ‘meet the sea’ experiences, there are plenty of unique activities for kids.
After spending our day lounging on the private beach, we headed to the White Isle’s Old Town at sunset for a glass of sangria in the marina.
5. Danai Beach Resort & Villas, Halkidiki
Danai Beach Resort and Villas oozes timeless Mediterranean elegance with its perfect location on the beautiful middle peninsula of Halkidiki in Greece. Coupled with fragrance gardens and a strikingly white-washed aesthetic, the resort provides the perfect backdrop for a luxury European escape.
The resort, a member of the Leading Hotels of the World, has a boutique atmosphere, 5-star service and a lavish selection of villas and suites, making it one of our most sought-after stays. Unwinding in a spacious cabana on its 300m private stretch of beach and enjoying a treatment at the Danai Spa, with its extensive menu of globally sourced treatments, was just as we had envisaged our tour.
If you love living the high life, board the resort’s private luxury yacht to explore nearby landmarks, check out the award-winning wine cellar and taste some of its 1,700 labels. What’s more, enjoying fine dining at the open-air Andromeda Restaurant, which overlooks the astonishing Aegean Sea, should be on your to-do list when you visit.
