On Tour with SISTRA: Inside the Sister Duo’s London Date Supporting Rose Gray

Few emerging acts are capturing the thrilling unpredictability of UK alt-pop quite like SISTRA. Made up of sisters Sasha and Sylvie Briggs, the London duo have steadily built a reputation for crafting emotionally charged, hyper-stylised pop that feels equally intimate and explosive. Blending elements of alt-pop, electronic and hyperpop, their sound pulls from a rich palette of influences, from Caroline Polachek and Charli XCX to PinkPantheress and The Japanese House, while remaining unmistakably their own.

We first spotlighted SISTRA as part of our Renaissance Issue’s Ones to Watch feature, describing the pair as “pop provocateurs” making waves with their bold sound. Since then, the sisters have only continued their ascent. Their debut album, She Won’t Let Go, executive produced by Jon Shave and featuring production from Chloe Kraemer and Danny L. Harle, explores sisterhood, ambition and emotional dependency through shimmering production and razor-sharp songwriting. Conceptually rooted in the idea of being trapped within their childhood home, the record balances vulnerability with an unshakable belief in one another.

Fresh from appearances across London Fashion Week and armed with one of the most exciting live sets on the circuit right now, SISTRA recently joined Rose Gray across several dates of her latest tour, bringing their emotionally charged world-building and euphoric sound to an already electric lineup.

As the duo continue their rapid rise, Sasha and Sylvie penned an exclusive tour diary for 1883, taking readers behind the scenes of life on the road and behind the Rose Gray concert at Koko in London.

Paris, you put up a good fight, but we were SO ready for London.

I’ll let her finish but she’s wrong

Us after the most savage fight of our lives

KOKO you were the BEST

SISTRA’S debut album She Won’t Let Go lands next week on May 29.
