Canned Pineapple | Jessie Met Jane

Brighton quartet Canned Pineapple announces their upcoming EP, 'Big Break,' and releases their electrifying new single, "Jessie Met Jane."

Canned Pineapple continues to build momentum after an exhilarating first half of 2024. Consisting of Irish vocalist Seán Drury and his songwriting partner Oakley Gardiner, guitarist Gabe Rice, drummer Charlie Pringle, and bassist Cam Freeman, the band releases “Jessie Met Jane,” a track that captures the vibrant energy characteristic of Canned Pineapple’s sound.

By blending fuzzy guitar tones, distorted vocals, and lo-fi vintage production, Canned Pineapple masterfully creates an upbeat and urgent sound that carries a playful, tongue-in-cheek edge. Their distinctive “scuzz-pop” style is characterized by vibrant, catchy melodies that are both raw and irresistibly infectious, capturing the energetic essence of their live performances and leaving a lasting impression on listeners.

“We wrote this tune while staying at a friend’s flat during a tour,” lead singer Seán Drury shares when asked about the inspiration behind the track. “In the flat above, there were three people arguing all night. We imagined them being in a love triangle and what they might be arguing about. It was a heavy night, to say the least, and I ended up writing a song about our deluded vision of their reality.”

“Jessie Met Jane” is out now.
