Casper Sage is getting ready for the release of his upcoming EP “PATINA,” and he’s setting the tone with “bits + pieces.” The song itself balances softness and weight, drifting on shimmering synths while Sage’s vocals move between delicate restraint and full-bodied emotion. It’s introspective without feeling distant and heavy without losing its sense of lift.
The visualizer mirrors that emotional push and pull through a simple but striking setup. Sage sits alone in a dark room, centered beneath a red circle, while the camera shifts and occasionally spins around him. The subtle motion and disorientation feel intentional, reflecting memories breaking apart, love dissolving into fragments, and the quiet strangeness of watching something meaningful slip into the past.
What makes the video work is how grounded it stays. The production is clean, minimal, and intentional, proving Sage doesn’t need a big spectacle to communicate what the track is doing emotionally.
“bits + pieces” is part of a broader rollout that includes more singles on the way, leading up to the full “PATINA EP” expected later this spring, with “Arthur” featuring DERBY positioned as the focus track.

Sage’s story adds even more depth to the project. Now 24 and based in Nashville, he’s an alt-R&B artist who writes, produces, and plays multiple instruments, building songs that feel both intimate and expansive. His work often explores how people carry the past, how memories shape identity, and how pain can be turned into something communal rather than isolating.
That idea sits at the core of “PATINA,” which Sage describes as “a war on nostalgia.” The EP will frame the past not as something to chase or romanticize, but as something to learn from and then release. It’s an outlook shaped by real-life experience, from his early years in Oklahoma City and internet-driven music discovery to his move to Nashville for Belmont University and the emotional growth found across releases like 2025’s “SAGEhaven” EP, where he began locking into the voice that’s now coming fully into focus with “PATINA.”
