On Tour with Anna Shoemaker

Anna Shoemaker takes 1883 on tour across North America.

Something alchemical happens when Anna Shoemaker takes the stage. An unfiltered rush of vulnerability, grit, and radiant self-discovery that feels like reading someone’s diary while they sing it out loud. Following the release of her sophomore album, Someone Should Stop Her, Shoemaker has been hitting the road this spring supporting alt-pop darling Mallrat across North America. And 1883 is tagging along.

Ahead of the tour wrapping up in a few days, Anna Shoemaker takes 1883 behind the scenes of her NYC date on the tour with insights and commentary on what these shows have been like.

I’m so excited to be on the road with Mallrat! NYC shows of any tour are always my favorite, I lived here up until very recently so it’s where all my friends are! The energy is always unmatched and there’s always somewhere to get food late night, no matter how late you’re done.
One of my good friends Gabriela Mershad started a beautiful clothing brand called Mershy, the second they put out the horsebit top I knew I needed to wear it to the NYC show!
Chilling in the green room, love the forest wall tricking me into thinking I’m somewhere far far away without a nervous bone in my body!
Playing these shows with my friend Aaron have been SO fun. I’m a huge fan of his solo project (Boxtrod) so it’s been really fun hearing him bring some of those sounds into my songs.
Everybody, it’s the legend of swag; Aaron Kennedy.
I know for a fact I was looking right at where my friends and boyfriend were standing in this photo!! I love seeing them in the crowd so much it makes me want to cry.
This must be Aaron’s set list, it’s very very marked up as you can see.
One of my favorite parts of being on tour is getting to meet everyone at merch after the show 🙂
This is actually the first time we’ve sold vinyl records so that’s honestly been pretty surreal.
