Following the release of her “HUMAN SKIN” EP, the successful Boiler Room showcase that has almost reached 1 million views and her collaboration with Måneskin’s Victoria De Angelis at Neopop Festival, BIIA captured this recent tour through candid photography. The diary begins with her EDC Las Vegas performance,a festival she described as “a city full of lights and distractions” where she played to thousands of festival-goers. From there, her camera followed her to Asia for three shows across four days. This is her visual story of life on the road.

When I arrived at the venue I realized the scale of EDC Las Vegas. A city that is a festival full of lights and distractions that took my mind on a journey. I looked like a kid in a candy shop.

Playing for that many people with that view in the background gave me a feeling of fulfillment and gratitude. While I was playing there was a moment that felt like it was in slow motion, I was fully aware of time and space and I just savored it.
An experience I will never forget. I will work to ensure that I continue to be part of the EDC lineup in the coming years, but even if that doesn’t happen, that moment made it all worthwhile.

Usually I like to build the set in a free and fluid way, according to what the party and the audience are transmitting to me, but at EDC the performance is one hour long, so there was a prior preparation of track by track to make sure I had time to play all the ones I wanted and that I would give the show I wanted. It gives you an extreme adrenaline rush and time passes very quickly, but the feedback was extremely good.

At the end of my set I was able to enjoy the festival as a raver and lose myself. I had the opportunity to hear Tiesto’s set. A legend. I felt like I was back in time when I was a teenager and watched these American festivals on TV.

At the end of the festival, of course I had to gamble at the casino with my friends. This is Vegas baby. Plus my birthday.

My ASIA TOUR was everything I could ask and even more. The hospitality and warmth of the people is something I’ll always be thankful for. It feels I never reciprocate enough.

One of my favorite things to do when touring is to meet new people and just listen to them. I can get a lot of inspiration from them.

It is unreal to play in the other side of the world with artists in the lineup that I always looked up to since I was a teenager.

Giving these people some joy.

When I say the hospitality is crazy, I mean it.

After 3 gigs in the 4 days of touring: Tokyo, Taipei and Seoul, a little time to be a tourist.
