Phantom Peak: Jonacon
– Review, Phantom Peak, London

Jonacon at Phantom Peak lets you leave reality behind and live inside a steampunk comic book where the only rule is to expect the unexpected!
A group of five people is posing energetically on a small stage at an event called 'JONACON,' as indicated by the illuminated signs in the background. They are dressed in a mix of colourful and themed outfits, with some wearing hats, vibrant coats, and accessories. The person in the center is wearing a theatrical burgundy and pink dress with a patterned fur-lined coat, extending their arms dramatically. The others around them, wearing outfits including a green patterned coat, a red cap, and casual jackets, have wide smiles and raised arms. The setting appears to be an indoor event space with warm lighting, wooden decor, and a lively atmosphere, with other attendees visible in the background.

If you’ve read one of my previous season Phantom Peak reviews (click here to read my first and fullest), you’ll know that this steampunk paradise in Canada Water is an ever-evolving world of adventure, mystery, and very, very good cocktails. And just when I thought they couldn’t top Wintermas, Jonacon arrives.

Jonacon is an all-new season that plunges Phantom Peak into a convention-style, meta-festival dedicated to the town’s enigmatic (and definitely not evil) overlord, Jonas. Jonas, who once saved the town in a long story that we’re not going to go into here, is the mythical head of the Jonaco Corporation – the very organisation running Jonacon. Think corporate expo meets fan convention meets immersive chaos – and it’s every bit as bizarre and brilliant as it sounds.

The incredibly talented cast of characters who make Phantom Peak such a unique experience.

We had an amazing time. The food and drink were superb as always (seriously, you could visit just for the grub and the cocktails), but the real treat? The adventures. And oh boy, did we have adventures!

We assisted Sherlock Bones (a puppet dog with a New York accent, because why not?) to crack a heinous crime, assisted Doctor Winter in controlling a maniac hedgehog – at least, I think that’s what was happening – and saved the town’s beloved postmaster, Littlefield, from an evil hat. Yes, you read that right. And that’s just a taste of the wild and wonderful missions awaiting at Jonacon.

But wait, there’s more! We also caught wind of a juicy (though unconfirmed) rumour: despite fears that Phantom Peak would be leaving its Canada Water home before mid-year, it now looks like they could be staying throughout 2025! If true, this is fantastic news for immersive fans, because honestly, Phantom Peak is unlike anything else in London.

That’s me in the red hat and the very real muscles, living my best life at the Peak!

So, if you’ve never been, now is the perfect time to dive in. And if you have been before, well… the town has been transformed yet again, and trust me – you won’t want to miss it. Get your best steampunk gear ready, strap on some Jonas style abs, or simply come as you are, and prepare to embrace the weird and wonderful world of Phantom Peak: Jonacon! Get your tickets now, before the season ends on 11th May 2025.
