Phantom Peak: Wintermas, oh what a joyful and jolly season! The smell of mulled wine fills the air, there are freshly made doughnuts, pina colada (and other cocktails) on tap, seasonal treats such as hot cider, and of course no Wintermas celebration would be complete without old Father Platmas in his purple suit, delighting everyone with his big smile and good cheer!
If you are as yet unfamiliar with Phantom Peak, the fully immersive steampunk town, based in Canada Water, please check out my review of their Hallowed Peak season, where I give a full run down. Just in case you didn’t, here’s a TLDR version:
Phantom Peak is a jaw-dropping, steampunk wonderland tucked away in London’s Canada Water – a world where imagination runs wild and adventure is around every corner. It is a living, breathing town packed with eccentric characters, mind-bending mysteries, and interactive missions that let you shape your own story. Whether you’re a first-timer or a die-hard fan, its ever-evolving world, seasonal flair, and endless surprises guarantee an incredible experience every time!
This was my 6th or 7th visit, but my first Wintermas season. Last time I came with 2 friends and we had a boozy time enjoying lots of cocktails as we completed the exciting missions. This time I was accompanied by my wife and small beings (6 and 10) and we were all super excited to check out this special season.
It’s not obligatory to dress the part, but it helps get with the immersion of it all! While I was only wearing a Christmas…sorry…Wintermas jumper and a red Father Platmas style hat, my Mrs was dressed as an Elf, my youngest as an angel, and my eldest as some sort of seasonal tinsel being! Being veterans of a fair few visits, we grabbed a mulled wine for the adults and hit the missions! Oh what fun we had! We had to help save one of the townspeople from an earworm that had burrowed into their head as a result of the song Last Wintermas, we had to find the lost ring that had the power to destroy the town, we had to help a poor townsperson that was being persecuted by their evil parents… and a dog! The only time we stopped during our 4 hour visit was to grab a delicious doughnut from the Wintermas refreshment kiosk and to refresh our drinks, other than that it was all go, go, go!
1. My youngest and I got to meet the REAL Father Platmas!!
2. Halloway the Phantom Peak Undertaker!
(These two photos are taken on my phone, not by the photographer)
I mentioned Father Platmas earlier, they are a jolly looking person in a purple suit with a white beard and moustache painted onto their face, who bears a passing resemblance to Santa but is decidedly not him. If you have been good, then apparently, they might make your Wintermas dreams come true!
The town of Phantom Peak stays structurally the same on the whole, but the Wintermas decorations are delightful. There are Wintermas trees scattered throughout the town, beautiful lights all around, and if you’re really lucky, you might even get snowed on!
My family and I agree that Wintermas is our favourite Phantom Peak season yet, although it’s a pretty close call with the Lunar Festival aka Hallowed Peak, in October. The townspeople were an utter delight, as ever – with the notable exception of evil Dr. Winter, who is delightfully evil but never delightful – and once again we had a joyful and magical visit to the Peak. If you want a day or evening out that is unlike any other, Phantom Peak will fill you up with joy and leave you desperate to return. The Wintermas season is booking now until the 19th of January!
