The stars aligned for one of the UK’s most prestigious music industry events, where thousands of pounds were raised for a vital cause.
There’s something truly special about the O2 Silver Clef Awards. Each year, it brings together an eclectic mix of legendary artists, chart-topping bands, and rising newcomers at the renowned JW Marriott Grosvenor House in London. More importantly, the talent turns out to support and raise awareness for Nordoff and Robbins, the UK’s largest music therapy charity, which hosts the glitzy and glamorous event. The awards help generate crucial funds that enable the charity to provide music therapy to people across the UK, train future music therapists, and fund research to better understand and improve the impact of its work.
From adults with dementia reconnecting with loved ones, to autistic children finding their voice, Nordoff and Robbins helps transform lives through the power of music. For the 49th O2 Silver Clef Awards — which, for the first time in its history, moved from an afternoon to an evening slot yesterday — many famous faces turned out to celebrate. This year’s award winners included David Gilmour, Noah Kahan, Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Idles, The Last Dinner Party, and Rick Astley, to only name but a few.
During the evening’s live auction, a signed guitar from the Pink Floyd legend fetched £36,000 — a testament to the generosity within the industry. In total, an incredible £715,000 was raised for Nordoff and Robbins at this year’s event.
