1883 On Rotation: Lenny Kravitz, meg elsier, Bradley Simpson

The latest in new music from Lenny Kravitz, Skaiwater, meg elsier, Bradley Simpson & more in this week’s 1883 On Rotation playlist.

On rotation this week is the inimitable rocker, Lenny Kravitz. The Hollywood Walk of Fame inductee has announced his 12th studio record, Blue Electric Light which lands May 24th. To coincide with the announcement, he’s shared the LP single, “Human”. The track is filled with an undeniable energetic swagger with decent vocals, slick production, and even cowbell. It’s a life-affirming anthem which follows on from the previous song “TK421”. 22-year-old singer-songwriter I AM ROZE has shared their debut single, “Who I Am (featuring Brye)”. The song is full of stellar vocals, electronic textures, and inspiring lyricism. You may have heard their vocals on Fred Again’s tracks, “Forgive” and “Euston Station”, either way, the artist is poised for big things. A debut EP is expected later this spring via LAB Records. Musician, television host, actor, dancer, and beloved drag queen, Priyanka, has shared a new single. The Canadian artist has shared the infectious tune, “No New Friends”. From the dramatic production and catchy vocals alone, it’s a vibrant slice of energetic pop. Thematically, the song challenges the audience to celebrate the relationship you have with yourself and the importance of self-love. The fast-rising rapper Songer is continually going from strength to strength. He’s enjoyed chart-topping success with the tune “Toxic (Freestyle) which entered the top 30 UK charts. He’s now also just had the ‘world’s hottest record’ on BBC Radio 1 with his new track, “WIDE AWAKE”. It is lifted from his new EP The Price of Therapy which lands on Friday.

Elsewhere in the playlist, Skaiwater has shared a new single entitled “Light! (featuring Lil Nas X, 9lives)”. The song boasts club beats, emotive vocals from Skaiwater, and bars from Lil Nas X. Thematically, Skaiwater has a major epiphany about a relationship. Interestingly, this isn’t the first time they have teamed up with Lil Nas X, as they produced Nas X’s track, “Holiday”. Keep an eye out for more music from this talented artist. Cassyette has just shared the thunderous and emotive rock tune, “When She Told Me”. It features raw vocals and heavy riffs. It’s a moving song about the moment when her mum told her that her dad had passed away. The song is lifted from her debut LP This World Fucking Sucks. Nashville-based artist meg elsier is back with the new track “oldnews”. It is the fifth single taken from her debut record, spittake. It’s a fantastic track full of grungy guitars, serene vocals, and alt-pop influences. Finally, singer, songwriter, and producer, Bradley Simpson, has shared his debut musical offering, “Cry At The Moon”. It’s a stellar first solo release from The Vamps frontman. It boasts lush, soaring vocals, and effortlessly cool alt-rock instrumentals.
