The latest in new music Polly Money, Faye Meana, ARXX, Cults & more in this week’s 1883 On Rotation playlist.
On rotation this week is UK artist RunRummer who has dropped her latest single, “Orbit”. It’s a high-energy alt-pop track with vibrant production that you’ll have on repeat non-stop thanks to its anthemic vocals. Thematically, the track is about the idea of “being completely and utterly captivated by someone”, according to the songwriter herself. Next up, the emerging singer-songwriter Polly Money has released the effortlessly cool tune, “Anything”. The live-touring musician for The 1975 is continuing her own artistry with this new alt-pop future hit. “Anything” is about feelings of imposter syndrome and features introspective lyricism, lush vocals, and soaring choruses. If you’re a fan of the Japanese House, Dijon, and Clairo, then you need to keep an eye on Polly Money. Liv Dawson is back with the track, “Does It Even”. The song boasts pristine vocals, a bouncy dance beat, and garage influences. It’s lifted from the artist’s forthcoming new EP, “Turn The Page” which lands September 13. Catch Liv Dawson supporting Tom Grennan at Gunnersbury Park on August 10. Faye Meana has revealed the bop, “Can’t Be Replaced”. It’s a song about the excitement of a new relationship. There’s a funk-laden groove, slick vocals, and 80s-esque influences.
Elsewhere in the playlist, rock duo ARXX have revealed the stomping new track, “Good Boy”. It’s a song that follows a long period of growth for vocalist Hanni Pidduck and drummer Clara Townsend, as they’ve supported Youngblud, played Glastonbury, and had their music soundtrack the TV show Riot Women. The single is lifted from the band’s upcoming sophomore record of the same name which is out October 4 via Submarine Cat Records. Watch ARXX when they go on a UK and EU tour from October 13. Monobloc have shared their debut single, “Where is My Garden”. There are catchy guitar riffs and If you like The Strokes, this rock band could be your new favourite. Monobloc will be appearing at London’s All Points East in August. The National Parks have shared another teaser from their forthcoming new album Wild Spirit. “Scenic Route” is an indie folk-pop gem with stellar vocals. The new album is out August 23. Finally, the New York alt-rockers Cults have shared the new track, “Hung The Moon”. It’s a gorgeous slow-burning tune that is full of delicate vocals, dark ambient soundscapes, and gritty guitars. You can expect the duo to release their new album To The Ghosts on July 26.
