The latest in new music from Maverick Sabre, The Kills, Omar Rudberg, Devon Cole & more in this week’s 1883 On Rotation playlist.

On rotation this week is the comeback single from singer, songwriter, and producer, Maverick Sabre. Sabre has released the fantastic track “If I Could Only Love You Again” which features dreamlike soundscapes, a slick bassline, and an infectious drum beat. It’s lifted from his fifth studio LP Burn The Right Things Down which drops on October 18. Iconic rock duo The Kills have released an interesting new EP today entitled Happier Girls Sessions. Alison Mosshart and Jamie Hince have released a sublime rendition of Billie Eillish’s tune, “Happier Than Ever”, plus four non-electric versions of songs from their 2023 LP GOD GAMES. Catch The Kills playing some US dates in October. Julian Casablancas & The Voidz have released their third studio album, Like All Before You. Ever the experimental songwriter, Julian, who also fronts The Strokes, has created a boundary-pushing LP which blends rock, hazy electronica, and lo-fi pop sonics. Make sure to check out the album track “Flexorcist”. Catch the band performing in LA and NYC next month. Actor and musician Omar Rudberg has shared the glistening pop anthem called Sabotage. It’s full of flawless, soaring vocals and pristine production.

Elsewhere in the playlist, you can find “Sugar Daddy” by Devon Cole. The fast-rising songwriter has released yet another cool alt-pop tune with catchy hooks, grooving instrumentals, and gorgeous vocals. It’s incredibly sassy, fun, and empowering. West London rapper Bawo has shared the playful and electronic-tinged tune “Belly Like Homer”. It’s an understated track with an effortless flow. His forthcoming new album, It Means Hope Where I’m From, lands on October 25. The buzzy Australian group Chase Atlantic have announced their fourth studio LP, LOST IN HEAVEN. It’s out on November 1. Make sure to listen to the first single “DOUBT IT” – it’s an R&B and trap-inspired gem. You can read our last interview with the band by clicking here. Finally, the exceptional Canadian four-piece The Beaches are back with a new track called “Jocelyn”. It’s an alt-rock single with passionate vocals and tight instrumentals. Thematically, the song sees the group question what it means to leap into stardom whilst remembering they are only human.
