On rotation this week, Panic Shack announce their long-awaited return with “Gok Wan,” their first new release in over two years. Tackling the toxic culture of mid-2000s body improvement shows, the track is packed with towering guitars and sharp vocals. With a sold-out tour and festival slots ahead, the band is set for a massive 2025.
Indie veterans The Kooks have shared the second single to be lifted from their new forthcoming record, Never/Know, which he spoke to 1883 about recently. Entitled “Sunny Baby’, it’s a sun-kissed, feel-good tune with a distinctive soul and Motown impression. Thematically, it’s a love letter to frontman Luke Pritchard’s family.
Dublin’s fast-rising six-piece group BOLD LOVE are back with the sweeping alt-rock tune, “Talking & Drifting”. Speaking about the single, lead vocalist Cian Ó’Maonlaí said: “I was trying to give a glimpse into love’s first night—the excitement, nerves, and energy.” Catch the group on a headline UK tour from April 12 onwards.
American rockers The Summer Set have shared an anthemic new single, “I Don’t Wanna Party.” The song features slick vocals, catchy guitar hooks, pounding drums, and plenty of pop culture references throughout the lyricism.
Singer-songwriter and viral TikTok star Gabi Sklar has shared her latest track, “Miami”. Full of cinematic moments, dramatic, flawless vocals, and enthralling sonics, it’s an irresistible pop gem. Having already garnered millions of streams and worked with some of the industry’s biggest producers, Sklar is poised for big things.
Sabrina Claudio has shared new single “Need U To Need Me” through the independent label, Empire. Boasting lush vocals, delicate production qualities, and emotionally charged lyricism, the song navigates longing for validation and wondering if she is essential to her partner’s life.
James Vickery has shared the sublime track “Hotel Lobby”. Boasting an intoxicating Bossa nova rhythm, soulful vocals, and rich electronic textures, it’s one hell of an earworm. Written in LA, Vickery said: “I really wanted to go outside of my comfort zone and write over something that I would never normally sing to.”
Finally, the rising Australian songwriter Mikayla Pasterfield has unveiled the heartfelt and adventurous tune “Heritage Listed”. Full of acoustic guitar, a folky sense of wanderlust, and stellar harmonies, It’s an impressive release, especially when you consider it is only Pasterfield’s third song to be released so far.
