This story begins as all true stories do:
with a promise.
A leap into the unknown,
a step stretched towards another,
a fragile, audacious impulse.
An act of faith.
An ode to friendship.
A fresco of love.
It is the tale of whirling thoughts, of conflicting urges, of entangled feelings —
that gentle chaos which sometimes precedes joy.
The real kind.
The kind that lights up a child’s face on Christmas morning,
as they run breathless toward the tree,
heart beating with hope,
filled with dreams spun in the nights before.
But that kind of happiness is a fleeting mist.
It cradles.
It soothes.
It makes no promises for tomorrow.
And at times, it fades,
stolen away by a few shy sunrays,
still learning how to pierce the darkness
of those souls left on the margins.
Yes, this is a story of women.
Women who stand tall.
Women who celebrate life — their own —
beyond the frames imposed upon them.
They no longer yield.
“They have not lost that strength
Which once moved heaven and earth.
They are what they are:
Heroic hearts, forged of the same fire.”
It is September in Paris…
Summer hesitates to bow out,
despite the cooling air,
reluctantly yielding to an autumn we wish to ignore.
The streets murmur with youthful voices…
minds still steeped in summer’s idle wanderings,
like a child weaning herself off sweets,
in the quiet morning after a birthday.
