Annishia Camilla Lunette, talented British poet, actor and model based in Bayswater, London talks on her upcoming second poetry book, Tinted Rose.
“Tinted Rose’ touches on a lot of social and political concepts of life in the UK from both my perspective and also broader cultural and social shifts and dynamics. I wanted to bring certain topics to the surface in a light way with serious undertones as I know we don’t always feel like we can ‘speak up’ about things in a way that feels ‘okay’.”
Coming of Age Narratives
There is an undercurrent theme of ‘Coming of age’ from the author’s memoirs and narration.
Exploring some experimental and frank accounts of youth and popular culture.
“I hope with my openness; others can seek some solace and relatability navigating that part of life too. You’re standing on your own two feet, leaving home and entering your adult existence in the world.I’ve often struggled with this concept and sometimes it’s good to reflect back”.
Whilst every sinner has a future, every saint has a past. Annishia shares some of the more wilder and explorative parts of her life in a tongue in cheek and story telling stance.
“Life is all about the experiences, that shape us ;-)”
Much like Annishia’s first collection, ‘Crying Diamonds’ there are a few hybrid language poems in French and also Spanish. As well as some more personal,heartfelt themes surrounding the topic of love;
“The best bits, where you’re falling for someone.. even at first sight! lol”
Unique Voice Through Poetry
“Poetry has really helped give me a voice and shape my creativity. I write nearly every day. I love it and it also compliments me so well, as an overall picture developing in my artistry as a creative. I feel like these days, many people are hybrids and really owning that narrative now and showcasing different sides to themselves, it’s awesome. You can be in more than one box.”

Actor and Model
Alongside poetry, Annishia is an actor and model.
“Yes I’m currently shooting a beautiful indie film, ‘The interview’ directed by maria Millan set for release later this year then a feature film remake ,which I actually can’t say much more about just yet but is very exciting.”
You can also find Annishia modelling for British perfumer and chemist, Aaron Terence Hughes with ‘Noir’ Fragrance.
