If you’re planning a trip to Atlantic City with your furry friend, finding a pet-friendly hotel is essential. With a bit of research and planning, you can easily find accommodations that welcome both you and your four-legged companion.

Tips to Choose a Pet-Friendly Hotel for Your Vacation

Here are some tips to help you find a pet-friendly hotel in Atlantic City.

Research in advance

Before booking a hotel, do some research on hotels in Atlantic City that are pet-friendly. Many hotels have specific pet policies, and it’s important to review them in advance to avoid any surprises upon arrival. A quick online search can provide you with a list of hotels that allow pets, as well as their policies.

Check for pet fees and restrictions

Once you have a list of potential hotels, review their pet policies to check for any pet fees or restrictions. Some hotels may require an additional pet deposit, while others may charge a daily fee. Some hotels may also have size or breed restrictions, so be sure to check if your furry friend is welcome.

Read reviews

Reading reviews from previous guests can give you an idea of how pet-friendly a hotel truly is. Look for reviews that specifically mention pets to get an idea of how accommodating the hotel is to furry guests. If you’re traveling with a large or high-energy pet, look for reviews that mention whether the hotel has ample space for pets to run and play.

Call the hotel directly

Once you’ve narrowed down your options, it’s a good idea to call the hotel directly to confirm their pet policy and any fees. You can also ask about specific amenities for pets, such as pet beds or bowls. Speaking to someone directly can also give you a better sense of how welcoming the hotel is to pets.

Book in advance

Pet-friendly hotels may have limited availability, so it’s best to book in advance to ensure you can secure a room for yourself and your furry friend. This is especially important if you’re traveling during peak season or during a busy event.

What Are the Options in Atlantic City for Pet-Friendly Trips?

As any good researcher, we took our recommendations into consideration and did some digging so you don’t have to. At the moment of writing, we found three pet-friendly hotels in Atlantic City itself and a few more in the surrounding area. Let’s focus on the AC options given that you’re interested in all things gambling and Boardwalk.

Harrah’s Resort offers PetStay rooms designed specifically for pet owners with such amenities as food and water bowls, pet beds, and treats for your fluffy companions. The hotel also offers dog walking routes and biodegradable waste bags. Sounds like an almost perfect option, and it is, unless you’re unwilling to pay a little bit more for luxurious rooms and entertainment. Up to two dogs are allowed to stay with their owners in Harrah’s rooms; cats and other pets are not allowed. Bringing your canines along will cost you $75 per night added to your accommodation fee.

Sheraton Atlantic City Convention Center Hotel is a much cheaper option that comes with a few pet-specific caveats. Owners are only allowed to bring one dog with them to the hotel rooms. On the bright side, Sheraton Atlantic City allows owners to leave their pets unattended. Just like with Harrah’s, cats cannot stay in the rooms. Each stay will cost dog owners $50 per room.

Showboat Hotel might be the perfect mix of great location on the Boardwalk and pet-friendliness. Both canine and feline owners are welcome here with the limit of pets per room standing at two. Showboat offers animal owners to stay for an additional fee of $50 per pet per stay. An outdoor relief area is available on the premises.
