When Profhilo first launched, it changed how we think about injectables. Less about volume, more about skin quality, it became a go-to for editors, dermatologists and aesthetic doctors alike, myself included. I’d had Profhilo previously and loved the deep hydration and overall skin refinement it delivered, so when Profhilo Structura came on the market, I immediately knew I wanted to try it.
Over the past couple of years, I’ve started noticing changes in my face that are less about fine lines and more about… well, gravity. A bit of sagging through the mid face, a slight loss of definition along the jawline. Nothing dramatic, but enough that I’ve become more aware of it. Dr Salman Zimri later confirmed what I’d suspected, I’m what’s known as a “sagger” rather than a “sinker” (more on that in a moment).
Positioned as the next evolution of the original formulation, Profhilo Structura is designed to support the skin’s underlying architecture, improving firmness, tissue quality and resilience, without altering facial expression or adding bulk.. Obviously, , I wanted to see how it performed beyond the theory so I booked my treatment at Skin Doctor Clinics, under the care of Dr Salman Zimri.
About Skin Doctor Clinics
Founded by Dr Saleena Zimri, Skin Doctor Clinics has locations across Leeds, York, Manchester and London. The London clinic is based on New Cavendish Street in Fitzrovia, just moments from Harley Street’s medical district.
The ethos here is refreshingly clinical, in the best sense. Treatments are evidence led, consultations are thorough, and everything is overseen by qualified medical professionals. From the first appointment to aftercare, the experience felt calm, considered and reassuring.

What Is Profhilo Structura?
While classic Profhilo focuses on bio-remodelling the skin through high concentration hyaluronic acid that disperses evenly across the face, Profhilo Structura takes a more targeted approach.
It uses NAHYCO® Hybrid Technology, which combines high and low molecular weight hyaluronic acid stabilized through a thermal process. This allows it to work deeper than traditional skin boosters, specifically targeting the adipose (fat) tissue layer beneath the skin to restore structural support from within.

It’s designed to:
- Improve skin firmness and tissue quality
- Support areas prone to laxity and loss of structure
- Enhance skin resilience without adding volume
- Work synergistically with the skin’s own architecture
Rather than acting as a filler, it behaves more like a skin strengthening treatment, ideal for those noticing early sagging, facial fatigue, or textural changes but but who perhaps don’t want to consider fillers yet or even something more dramatic like a facelift.
Profhilo vs Profhilo Structura: What’s the Difference?
Both treatments use hyaluronic acid to bio remodel the skin, but they work in slightly different ways.
Classic Profhilo spreads evenly across the face after injection, delivering deep hydration and overall skin improvement. It’s excellent for general skin quality, fine lines, and that all-over glow. The treatment uses the BAP (Bio Aesthetic Points) technique, five injection points on each side of the face.
Profhilo Structura, on the other hand, is more targeted. Dr Salman Zimri explained that while Profhilo focuses on hydration and bio remodelling across the entire face, Structura is designed to address specific structural concerns. It’s injected using a cannula into precise points where the skin needs additional support, in areas prone to sagging or loss of firmness.
| Profhilo | Profhilo Structura | |
|---|---|---|
| Application | Multiple injection points (BAP technique) | Cannula with fewer entry points |
| Primary Focus | Overall hydration and skin quality | Structural support and firmness |
| Targets | Skin surface and hydration | Deeper tissue/adipose layer restoration |
| Best For | General skin improvement, hydration, all over glow | Early laxity, loss of definition, targeted support |
If you like a metaphor, Profhilo is about nourishing the entire landscape, Structura is about reinforcing the architecture. Which is why, as Dr Zimri mentioned, many patients benefit from combining both treatments.
My Treatment Experience
I still had plenty of questions about how Profhilo Structura works, and Dr Salman took the time to talk me through everything in detail. Nothing felt rushed or overly clinical, and by the time we started the treatment, I felt completely clear on why it made sense for my skin. The treatment itself was quick, and no local anaesthetic was needed.
In my case, there was:
- No bruising (though light bruising is perfectly normal and common)
- Almost zero downtime
- Just a small, soft lump on each side of my face that settled within the same day
Aftercare was minimal. I avoided touching my face for the first six hours, skipped exercise, swimming and alcohol for 24 hours, and steered clear of heat (saunas, sunbathing). For the following few days, SPF 50 was essential. Aside from slight swelling on the day, there was no real downtime.
My Profhilo Structura protocol consisted of two treatments spaced six weeks apart, which appears to be the sweet spot for optimal results. Unlike treatments that deliver instant but short lived effects, this one works progressively, encouraging the skin to strengthen and improve over time.
The Results
While there was an immediate lifting effect right after treatment, the real changes became apparent around six weeks after the first session and even more noticeably at six weeks following the second treatment.
The changes are subtle, but I can see more definition along my jawline, a little lift through the cheekbones, less heaviness around the lower face, and overall a healthier look and feel to my skin.
Who Is Profhilo Structura Best For?
According to Dr Salman Zimri, Profhilo Structura is ideal for:
- Those already familiar with Profhilo and wanting a more targeted upgrade
- Early to moderate skin laxity
- Dull, fatigued skin that needs structural support rather than volume
- Anyone seeking natural, long-term skin improvement
Dr Salman Zimri explained that many patients combine the two treatments for comprehensive results. A common approach is to alternate between one round of classic Profhilo and one round of Profhilo Structura. The original formula provides overall hydration and bio-remodelling, while Structura targets specific areas that need structural support. This combination protocol allows you to address both general skin quality and targeted laxity concerns.
It’s less about chasing trends and more about investing in skin health.
For anyone curious about the next generation of bio-remodelling injectables, particularly if you’re noticing early sagging rather than volume loss, this is one to consider.
Profhilo Structura is available at Skin Doctor Clinics with locations in London, Leeds, Manchester, and York.
