Durdle Door – Dorset
Found along the Jurassic coastline, you’ll discover one of the most photographed places in Dorset and an iconic, naturally formed landmark – Durdle Door.
This incredible natural limestone arch was formed by the waves crashing towards the shoreline. Over time, it eroded a hole in the middle of the rock to create this iconic landmark.
The coastline is of such geological importance, it became England’s first natural World Heritage site by UNESCO in 2001, and is now part of a family of natural wonders – that includes the likes of Australia’s Great Barrier Reef and America’s Grand Canyon.
