Writen by: Chriss Moore

Tufina watches have gained significant popularity online. With hundreds of 5-star reviews on different sites and plenty of Quora posts, one can assume they’re a pretty well-loved brand. Some of their videos online have millions of views. If you’re thinking about buying a Tufina watch, I’ll give you a detailed review of my own personal experience, including their watch quality, customer service, and more.

Overview of the brand

Tufina is a German brand that sells hand-assembled watches. They’re a family-owned business with headquarters in Germany, and they’ve apparently been involved with watchmaking since 1828. They’ve got two collections Theorema and Pionier, which include a variety of mechanical, automatic, and incredible tourbillon watches for the price.

Design

Their designs feature plenty of skeletonized models, with highlighted engravings and intricate compositions.

The use of open front and back arrangements is mainly what got them so popular. Tufina offers skeleton watches with a modern twist. A creative take on a sophisticated design to produce watches that are both elegant and versatile.

Now, skeleton watches may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but if you like accessories that stand out, you’ll surely love these models.

Movement

Most Tufina watches are either mechanical hand-wound, automatic, or tourbillon. They’ve got a chronograph collection as well, especially with their most recent releases being a couple of quite trendy, sporty designs.

As far as accuracy goes, their movements are pretty solid. I bought Casablanca GM-101-5 Black as this is one of their top-selling pieces, and I was quite pleased with the performance. It’s reliable and practical. I wear a watch pretty much all day, and taking a look at my wrist to check the time instead of pulling out my phone has become a habit.

For the sake of this review, I made sure to double-check the time throughout the day and I was pleased to see that Casablanca was on point.

Case & Materials

As for the case, we’ve got the industry standard stainless steel, which is honestly all I can ask for. Strong, anti-corrosion, and durable. Most watches come with some type of ion-plating gold (IPG), which looks and feels great. Nothing beats the shine and luster of gold, and Tufina does a great job at achieving that pristine mirror polish.

The lens of Casablanca is sapphire crystal, which is a huge plus. The strap is made of genuine leather, which offers a richer texture, and natural variations, and ages gracefully. It may feel a bit stiff at first, but I noticed the more I wore my watch, the more the strap would take the shape of my wrist.

Comfort & Wearability

Casablanca just feels great. The lugs are nicely shaped so that the case sits comfortably on the wrist. I have a relatively large build, and the 44 mm case complimented my wrist nicely. I think this size is quite versatile, but I would advise people with smaller wrists or petite builds to look for a smaller model. Anything too big risks looking chunky.

Customer Service

I ordered through their Tufina Watches official website and there it said that delivery needs 3-5 business days. It took about 4 days to get to me. I got notified via email throughout each step. You could have opted for updates via text, but I did the email one. I was not home on the first attempt from FedEx, and their team was nice enough to leave me a message to remind me of it. These are the perks of a small family-owned business. I had a question after opening the package and got an answer within a few hours.

What I Liked

  • Beautiful designs: The skeletonized look is just stunning, and Tufina manages to make it both elegant and practical.
  • Good quality for the price: You get durable materials like stainless steel and sapphire crystal, plus mechanical and automatic movements that feel worth every penny.
  • Comfortable to wear: the Casablanca Black felt like it was made for my wrist.
  • Customer service: They seem to care and you are treated with a personalized experience instead of just a general answer.

A Few Downsides

  • Not for small wrists: Some of their watches, like the Casablanca, have larger cases. They do offer different sizes on their site.

Who Are These Watches For?

If you’re into watches that turn heads, appreciate good craftsmanship, and want something that feels a bit luxurious without costing thousands of dollars, Tufina is worth checking out. They’re especially great if you like bold designs, as their skeleton watches are the kind of accessory that grabs attention in the best way possible.

That said, if you’re not a fan of flashy or intricate designs, or if you’re after something super minimalist, you might want to check out some of their simpler models such as Paragon or Portofino.

Final Thoughts

To sum it up, I think Tufina watches are a solid choice for anyone looking for a high-quality, stylish timepiece that won’t completely break the bank. Whether you’re after something classy and elegant, or just want a watch that stands out from the crowd, Tufina has plenty to offer.

Their skeleton designs are the star of the show. They’re unique, and eye-catching, and give off this perfect mix of modern and classic vibes. On top of that, the materials feel premium, the movements are reliable, and the attention to detail is impressive for the price point.

Overall, I’m really happy with my Tufina watch. The Casablanca Black has become one of my favorite accessories. It’s stylish, functional, and just feels great to wear. If you’re on the fence about getting a Tufina watch, I say go for it. They’re well-made, they look amazing, and they’re a great way to add a little extra flair to your style. Trust me, you’ll be checking the time more often just to admire it. My next piece from them will be the GMT Lugano Tourbillon.
