Nashville-based singer-songwriter Savanna Leigh is carving out her own space in indie-pop with introspective melodies and candid, emotionally driven songwriting. Exploring themes of vulnerability, longing and self-discovery, her music captures the complexities of growing up and navigating the experiences that shape who we become.
Her EP for your entertainment, released last year, explored emotional growth and the challenges of finding your footing away from home, offering listeners an intimate glimpse into her world. This year, Leigh has continued to build on that momentum with a string of singles, including ‘guilty conscience’, ‘weird feeling’ and ‘walking contradiction’, each marking another chapter in her evolving musical journey.
With a sound rooted in personal storytelling and a knack for turning complicated emotions into relatable songs, Leigh continues to explore new facets of her artistry while building a deeper connection with her audience.
In conversation with 1883 Magazine, Savanna Leigh takes on 18 Questions and discusses new music, her dream dinner party guest list, the industry’s obsession with streams, and her favourite career moments of 2026 so far.

What’s one exciting thing that happened to you this week?
I sold out my second ever “songs & stories” show! The first ever one was in London actually, this time it’s in Nashville, where I am currently based!
What was the last thing you read?
Oh jeez, um probably the book fourth wing! It’s been a while haha, I need to finish the second book!
Favourite memory growing up?
It’s hard to pick just one, but I’d say all the years I spent playing sports! Sports were such a big part of my life growing up, and those years taught me so many lessons that I still apply to my music career today!
Where was the last place you travelled to?
London!! I was there most of September. I am there almost every other month haha but this trip was extra special as I put on my first ever headline show in the UK.
What was the last thing that made you laugh?
I made myself laugh earlier in the car while having a mini mental breakdown over my FedEx prints, haha. Sometimes you’ve gotta laugh instead of cry!
What’s your nighttime ritual?
I usually start with my nighttime skincare, then wind down by watching Criminal Minds or a crime documentary (haha, trust me, I know that’s probably not the most relaxing choice). Then I try to meditate or journal before going to sleep.
Who would be on your dream dinner party guest list?
Oooh, um, gracie abrams, dolly parton, betty white, and john bowlby.

Favourite quote from a film or TV show?
I don’t really have an all-time favorite, but “just keep swimming” from Finding Nemo feels pretty applicable to my life, haha!
What’s your go-to karaoke song?
‘Big girls don’t cry’ by Fergie
Favourite item in your closet?
Right now it’s my brown satin pants from madewell.
You’ve been hinting at releasing new music, what can you tell us about it?
I’ve been working toward sharing this music for a long time. It’s my heart spilled out onto the page and the most honest I’ve ever been in my writing. I can’t wait to finally let people into the full story.
What have been your three favourite career moments from 2026?
1. selling out my first ever “Songs & Stories” headline show in London.
2. Finishing recording a ton of new music after six months in the studio.
3. Getting my first ever Spotify cover after the release of my single ‘weird feeling’.
What’s been the one golden rule that has helped you the most in your career so far?
The only way to guarantee your dreams won’t come true is to give up on them, to quit. That’s what keeps me going, even when things feel hard/uncertain.

What should people expect sonically from upcoming music?
I grew up on old country and powerhouse pop ballads, and I feel like I’ve finally found a way to bring all my favourite influences together in a sound that feels more like me than anything I’ve released before.
Who are your dream collaborators?
Gracie Abrams, Joni Mitchell, Lennon Stella, any of those amazing artists would be a dream..
What’s on your rider for a show?
Tea, bananas, chicken nuggets (preferably chick fil a), lots of water, and goldfish haha.
What are your thoughts on the industry’s obsession with streams? You can have 100k monthly followers on Spotify but that doesn’t necessarily transfer into concert ticket sales.
I do think there’s a lot of emphasis on streams, numbers, and social media, and I’d love to see that same emphasis placed on live music and finding ways to turn those numbers into people in a room.
Both are important, in my opinion! Reaching people is one thing, but building a connection that makes them want to show up is another.
Finally, what is one thing you would like to manifest for yourself and why?
A sold out 2027 headline tour, my live show is my favorite part of all of this, seeing people and connecting with them face to face it’s what keeps me going and inspires me daily!
