1883 On Rotation: Akintoye, LAYA, ISOxo

The latest in new music from Akintoye, LAYA, ISOxo, Amelia Moore & more in this week’s 1883 On Rotation playlist.

On rotation this week is the latest release from rising hip-hop artist, Akintoye. Fuck Em Up Moses is an unapologetically cool single full of in-your-face vocals and slick production. The Canadian rapper previously found fame with his TikTok viral track, Pizzazz. Now, the hotly tipped artist is poised to reach new heights. LAYA has dropped a brand new extended play today. Entitled BET THAT, the EP is an alluring concoction of R&B influences and strong vocals. Listen to one of the EP’s best tracks, F’d Up and keep an eye on this emerging artist. Mixtress & Pete Cannon have teamed up to release an imaginative reworking of The Streets’ iconic track, Blinded By The Lights. If you’re a fan of fast-paced drum and bass then you’ll adore this version which pulses with an intoxicating energy.  San Diego’s ISOxo is an up-and-coming DJ and producer. The electronic dance music purveyor has been quickly making a name for himself thanks to his full-throttle releases and live shows. Now signed to 88rising (the home of Joji, Rich Brian, and more), the artist has released the pounding dance track, SHYPOP.

Elsewhere in the playlist you can find Cruel Sister’s experimental new single, Lenny. It’s a thrilling and wild release with distorted guitars, speedy drums, and atmospheric vocals. Pivoting to something more mellow now, California’s Juniper Honey are back with a new tune called Another Morning. Thematically, the song delves into the weight of being burnout in today’s nonstop world. The end result is an excellent slice of laidback slacker rock with captivating highs. The four-piece unveiled their self-titled debut LP earlier this year and will be continuing to make a name for themselves. Anna Kellam has shared the new release, To Be Young. The third track to be lifted from the artist’s forthcoming debut EP, Fetch. The song itself is a charming indie-folk tune that boasts gorgeous vocals and warm instrumentals. Kellam’s debut EP will drop September 29. Finally, Amelia Moore is a future alt-pop star in the making. The songwriter’s new single over my ex is out now and it’s a dynamic and fun release.
