The latest in new music from The WAEVE, Flores Blue, Uma, Rizzle Kicks & more in this week’s 1883 On Rotation playlist.
On rotation this week is the brand-new track from The WAEVE. Composed of musicians Graham Coxon and Rose Elinor Dougall, the pair have shared the tune, “Broken Boys”. It’s a riveting concoction of Coxon’s exceptional guitar style, unique vocals, rock influences, and synth. The track is taken from the band’s forthcoming sophomore record, City Lights, which lands on September 20. Indie singer-songwriter Flores Blue has released her debut EP, Entertain, today. Jesse Quin, the bassist of the popular band Keane, produced the songwriter’s debut project. Check the EP out for thrilling guitars, serene vocals, and 90s alternative rock influences. Make sure to listen to the phenomenal EP closer, “Iris”. British-American Singer-Songwriter Isabella Kensington has released the track, “in another life”. It’s an alt-pop anthem that explores the topic of heartache and longing. Check the track out for lush vocals, and pristine production. Kensington’s new EP, not in a dollhouse anymore drops September 20th. Rising LA artist Jessy Fury has released the new track, “Heaven”. It’s a synth-laden offering with pop-rock influences, vibrant production, and big vocals.
Elsewhere in the playlist, you can find the talented newcomer Uma and her single, “Elevate Me”. Check it out for breezy vocals and stellar production. It is lifted from her mixtape Luther which will be released on September 20th. The mixtape channels her life experiences into the timeless narrative framework of a romantic comedy and you can expect R&B, melodic pop, indie influences throughout. Hip-hop duo Rizzle Kicks are back after a lengthy, eight-year hiatus. Their new single, “Javelin” is a funky, light-hearted comeback with lush vocals, slick vocals, and infectious production. You can expect more music from the pair in the future. Emerging artist and producer Izzy Camina has shared the new track, “Seraphim”. It’s a thrilling concoction of synth-punk, high-intensity beats, and ethereal pop vocals. Finally, Toronto-based artist and DJ Zorza has shared a slice of hyper-techno with the new tune, “Everything U Need”. The tune contains nostalgic early 2000s rave bass lines and contagious pop melodies. Catch her on tour across the world from next month.
