There is something undeniably cinematic about the new chapter Remember Monday are stepping into. The trio, celebrated for their powerhouse harmonies, sharp songwriting and infectious chemistry, are embracing what they call their “00s pop-rock rom-com era”, channelling the carefree spirit of a generation raised on iconic movie soundtracks, chaotic love stories and euphoric pop-rock anthems.
To celebrate the release of their brand-new single, Delusional, out today, the band have taken over the 1883 playlist with a selection of tracks inspired by this latest creative chapter. Filled with nostalgic favourites, pop-rock staples and songs that capture the spirit of classic rom-com soundtracks, the playlist offers a glimpse into the music shaping their current era.
When 1883 previously caught up with the band, they spoke candidly about friendship, vulnerability and the journey that transformed them from viral cover stars into one of the UK’s most exciting rising acts. Since then, Remember Monday have continued to evolve both musically and creatively, leaning further into the playful storytelling and emotional honesty that have made fans fall in love with them in the first place.
This latest era feels bigger, bolder and unapologetically fun. Think late-night drives, messy romance, glittering nostalgia and the kind of songs that belong in the final scene of a coming-of-age classic. It is a direction that feels perfectly suited to the trio’s infectious energy and unmistakable chemistry.
From rom-com classics to euphoric singalong moments, Remember Monday’s latest 1883 playlist takeover captures the spirit of their new era perfectly.

A note from the group
For this next era of Remember Monday, our goal is to transport you into a rom com movie from the late 90s/early 00s. We want to give you the big feelings, the ridiculous moments, the songs that make you convinced your life has a director and a perfectly curated soundtrack.
That’s the world we’ve been living in while working on our new music, and this playlist is made up of all the songs that have hugely inspired us. Every song on here is a scene. Listen to them all together, and they make up the whole movie…
‘You Get What You Give’ – New Radicals
The Opening Credits…
Name a more perfect opening credits song. We’ll wait… This is the song playing while our protagonist strides down a busy London street, coffee in hand, something big clearly about to happen.
It sets the whole tone – optimistic, a little chaotic, completely convinced that things are going to work out. The song itself is an absolute anthem from start to finish – it grabs you in the first five seconds and refuses to let go. Perfect opening credits energy!
‘Anywhere But Here’ – Hilary Duff
The “Something Has To Change” Scene…
So now we’re like 10 minutes into the movie – our main character is staring out the window of her supposedly-tiny-but-inexplicably-stunning loft apartment with exposed brick, a spiral staircase, and somehow a roof terrace (as a college student), feeling like she needs a change.
This song is that exact moment. Hilary Duff is, let’s be honest, an absolute 00s icon, and she captured that itch perfectly: a true “I want” song moment.
‘Stacey’s Mom’ – Fountains of Wayne
The Comedic Subplot…
Every great rom-com needs a scene that makes you properly laugh out loud, usually involving a side character doing something incredibly misguided with total confidence. This song is that scene.
Fountains of Wayne committed fully to the bit and ended up with a song that is not only witty and comical, but also an insane ear worm and a real volume-all-the-way-up kind of song.
‘Delusional’ – Remember Monday
The Plan…
You know that character who draws hearts in her notebook around the name of the guy she’s crushing on? She’s already mentally planned the wedding, named the kids, and picked a font for the save-the-dates – and he doesn’t even know her name yet?
This is that bit. She may have booked a non-refundable chapel. She may have signed a lease just to share a wall. The heart wants what it wants, and sometimes what it wants is to manufacture a series of increasingly unhinged chance encounters until someone falls in love with you. We’ve all done it, right? Right??
‘Why Can’t I’ – Liz Phair
After the Meet-Cute…
Okay, so the meet-cute has happened and it was a success. Our main character is back home now, replaying the whole thing, unable to focus on anything else. This is that song – breezy on the surface, absolutely spiralling underneath. In this track Liz Phair somehow made romantic chaos sound like a total sunny breeze, which is a magic trick we are desperate to pull off ourselves…
‘Girl All the Bad Guys Want’ – Bowling for Soup
he Wrong Guy Scene…
This is when we switch narratives for a second, and we see our main character through the eyes of her loveable boy-next-door best friend, who she’s never glanced twice at in a romantic way. We all know he’s the right one. She does not. And this song is exactly what’s playing in his head while he watches her be completely oblivious to it.
‘Perfect Day’ – Hoku
The Makeover Montage…
It’s first date time – she’s trying on every outfit she owns, applying seven different lip glosses, trying to resist ironing her hair etc. etc. This song is pure serotonin, the musical equivalent of a slow twirl in front of the mirror when the character steps out post-makeover, and she knows she looks good.
‘Kiss Me’ – Sixpence None the Richer
The “It’s Always Been You” Moment…
The moment we’ve all been waiting for – our protagonist was stood up by the wrong guy, so thank goodness her loveable best friend is there to comfort her! Suddenly something shifts – maybe he tucks her hair behind her ear, maybe he looks at her for a second too long, and suddenly she knows!
This song is that exact moment – super soft, a little dazed, and even though we started watching the movie knowing it would end this way, we still can barely sit still with anticipation of their first kiss!
‘Miracles Happen’ – Myra
A Flashmob For Some Reason…
It’s a happy ending, our happy couple have sealed the deal with a kiss after running to each other through some kind of train station or airport right before one of them left for good, there’s probably a flashmob happening, fireworks erupt above them even if it’s inside, who cares, it’s a rom com and we’ve loved every cheese stuffed second.
‘Soak Up The Sun’ – Sheryl Crow
The End Credits…
And we’re out. Windows down, everything resolved, life is genuinely great as the lovebirds drive off into the sun set. This is the song playing while the names scroll and everyone in the cinema is smiling in spite of themselves. The perfect ending to the perfect playlist. See you at the sequel.
