On Tour With Morat:
Inside the last night of their sold-out Madrid run

Before Morat took the stage for their fourth and final night at Madrid’s Movistar Arena, they did what they always do. They got in a huddle. It’s a small ritual, captured in the band’s photo diary from 31 October, just before they stepped out in front of another sold-out crowd.

The four nights in Madrid capped a Spanish run that sold more than 150,000 tickets. For Juan Pablo Isaza, Juan Pablo Villamil, Simón Vargas and Martín Vargas, it was the latest stop on a tour that began with six sold-out nights in their hometown of Bogotá. Named after Ya Es Mañana, the record that earned Morat their first Latin Grammy, the tour has taken the Colombian four-piece from Chile and Argentina to Spain, with Mexico up next.

For On Tour With, Morat take 1883 inside that last night in Madrid. There’s a close-up of the stage clothes, a moment in the spotlight for Villamil and a backstage encounter with Mexican goalkeeper Memo Ochoa. Then there’s the view the band get from the stage, looking out at the crowd on night four.
