At-Home Wellness Ideas

With all the hustle and bustle of modern-day life, it can be difficult to find some time to relax and recuperate after a long day before the next box on your to-do list needs to be checked.

Now might be time to take a step back and start looking after yourself. We have compiled a list to help you kick-start your wellness journey. You don’t have to implement all of them at once, but following a few of these ideas might just help you decompress and give yourself some much-needed TLC.

Morning routine

Mornings can be especially crazy, so try and plan in a bit more time to eat your breakfast in peace and fuel your body for the day. Waking up 15 minutes earlier might sound like a chore right now but those few extra minutes can make all the difference to your wellness, creating a morning routine will help eliminate daily stressors that can have a negative effect in the long run if not addressed.

Dress to impress

And by that we don’t necessarily mean for other people. Dress to impress yourself! Feeling fantastic should be your main priority so whether you need some fashion advice to help you look fabulous or you already have a few key pieces that you feel your best in, wear them – you don’t need a special occasion to dress up in your favourite outfit. To look good even when sitting on the sofa, trade your old, stained, and ripped t-shirt in for a fancy new lounge-wear set. Looking put together will make you feel put together.

Take your time

Blink and you’ll miss it – the week has a tendency to be over before it has even begun and with so much to do, it’s easy to forget to look after no. 1. So schedule yourself in some wellness time, blocking a few hours in your calendar for a bit of self-care means you’re more likely to actually do it too. How about creating a spa-like feel in your bathroom? Candles are perfect for this; you could try dry brushing your body before treating yourself to a fizzing bath bomb and a face mask. Don’t worry if you haven’t got a bath, there are many products available that can be used in the shower. You could use a few drops of eucalyptus oil, for example, the steam of a hot shower will help the essential oil permeate the bathroom with an uplifting smell. However if your shower leaves a lot to be desired then you could upgrade it with the help of a GROHE shower thermostat for a truly high-end showering experience.

Work life balance

Try and keep your work life and personal life separate, mixing the two can lead to unwanted tension and stress. Of course, if you are working from home then it’s not always easy to keep them apart. However, having a dedicated workspace even if it’s a corner within your living room will help to separate the two. Once you have finished work, put your work stuff away and take a bit of time to decompress and unwind before starting your evening.

Fresh air

Fresh air and a bit of exercise do wonders for your health and wellbeing so make sure you get outside at least once a day! You don’t have to go for a run if you don’t want to, a leisurely stroll will also do the trick. Oxygen is said to increase the happy hormone, serotonin, and we all could do with a bit more of that!
