Kyi based label Etnodim has spent 17 years reinterpreting traditional Ukrainian embroidery for modern wardrobes, and its clothes have always carried a certain lived-in quality, as if they’d been pulled from a linen closet rather than a production line. Its new capsule collection, Summer Within Us, is all about home.
Founded 17 years ago by designer Andriy Cherukha, Etnodim set out to reinterpret traditional Ukrainian embroidery for modern wardrobes, and the brand has quietly amassed a devoted following in the process. Where last season looked outward to Ukrainian decorative art and archival print, Summer Within Us turns inward, literally. The collection is dedicated to the feeling of home, and to the relationship between interior spaces and the world beyond them.
Its central reference is unexpectedly humble: the curtain. A household object that both separates and connects, it shapes the entire collection, from the softness of the silhouettes to the natural fabrics, cutwork embroidery, and semi sheer details that let light (and a little skin) filter through. It’s a clever conceit, and one that never tips into costume. These are clothes for actual summers, not moodboards.

The standout is a linen wrap skirt that sits somewhere between an antique tablecloth and a styling accessory. It carries the weight of an inherited textile but is cut for a modern wardrobe and, in keeping with the collection’s blurring of fashion and interiors, it can double as a home textile. It carries the weight of an inherited textile but is cut for a modern wardrobe and yes, it can genuinely be hung at a window, which might be the wittiest design decision of the season.

If the past few seasons have taught us anything, it’s that people want clothes with a past: found, inherited, or at least convincingly so. It’s why vintage keeps outpacing new season, and why the most coveted pieces are the ones that look like they have a story. Etnodim has been quietly making clothes like that all along.
