The brand refuses to add the filmvformers that make sunscreen cling through water, and the reward is a texture so weightless it reads as a primer, with serious PA++++ UVA protection underneath. This is a sunscreen for city light and silk shirts, and it makes no apology for that.

For anyone whose skin has opinions, AlumierMD’s mineral pair is worth knowing about now the clinic-only brand finally sells direct in the UK: Sheer Hydration for normal to dry skin, Clear Shield for oily and blemish-prone complexions. (A telling aside: both recently went from SPF 40 to SPF 30 on the label without the formula changing a drop — new EU rules on how SPF is categorised, and a small reminder that the number on the bottle is as much regulation as promise.)
