Flyana Boss have always known how to cut through noise. What started as sharp, funny, fast-moving clips online quickly proved to be something much more deliberate, with Bobbi and Folayan building a world that feels entirely their own. It’s bold, a little chaotic, and always in control.
Their new single “Jungle” pushes that even further. Taking on “My Neck, My Back (Lick It)” by Khia is no small move, but instead of playing it safe, they lean all the way in. The track takes the original’s slow burn and flips it into something louder, faster, and fully theirs, packed with punchlines, attitude, and a hook that’s built to take over a room.
That same energy runs through the video, where a quiet diner scene quickly spirals into something much bigger, turning everyday space into their own playground. It’s unpredictable, playful, and completely in step with how they’ve been moving from the start.
For this 18 Questions, Bobbi and Folayan talk about creative blocks, family life, trusting your gut, and stepping into a more grown, confident version of themselves as Flyana Boss enters its next chapter.

1. What’s the first thing you usually do when you wake up in the morning?
Folayan: Turns out that I birthed my own personal alarm clock! Every morning my baby girl wakes me up with a big smile and a big diaper. I change her and ask her about her dreams, and then make her breakfast.
Bobbi: I’m kind of an old lady, I enjoy watching Gayle King first thing in the mornings!
2. When you hit a creative block, what actually helps you get out of it?
Folayan: Going somewhere like Disneyland is great or just consuming some other type of art aside from music.
Bobbi: I think the only true creative block is self judgment, so in those times I take a step back to see what I am being critical about and why, and see how I can solve it or let it go.
3. Are you the type to overthink everything or trust your gut and move fast?
Folayan: My therapist could probably answer this one better than me! I think I have a balance of both though. Certain problems require you to just act fast so I do that, but if I have time I love overthinking.
Bobbi: I mostly overthink. I over analyse a lot of things in life, but I’ve never been wrong when I’ve trusted my gut.
4. What’s a small habit that keeps you grounded when life gets chaotic?
Folayan: Going on walks with my family. It’s simple, me, my husband, daughter and our dog.
Bobbi: Walking. I need my walks!!!
5. Do you feel more powerful in the studio or on stage?
Folayan: Definitely on stage. There’s no other feeling like exchanging energy with a crowd of people in real time.
Bobbi: Absolutely, unequivocally the stage. Ever since my first dance recital I knew I was my most powerful on the stage. The studio actually is quite agonising for me at times.
6. What kind of music did you obsess over growing up?
Folayan: My mom had a few albums on rotation, Gonna Take a Miracle by Deniece Williams and The Lady Sings…Jazz & Blues by Diana Ross. And then anything my older siblings were into like OutKast, Pimp C and Mike Jones.
Bobbi: Anything Beyoncé, Luther Vandross and Motown.
7. What’s something people still misunderstand about you as artists?
Folayan: I think because Bobbi and I blew up on the internet some folks think that we’re influencers who make music, when in reality we’re artists who used a platform to share our work.
Bobbi: I don’t care to understand people’s misunderstandings of us.
8. Are you more drawn to control or chaos in your day to day lives?
Folayan: I have a toddler, so I’m submitting to the natural chaos that’s around me. It’s actually kinda beautiful.
Bobbi: I need a little bit of both to operate properly. I’m a controlled chaos type of girl. It’s a challenge for me to find balance though.
9. What does a perfect day off look like for you right now?
Folayan: Me and my family go do some activities, go out to eat and then stay in for the night and watch a movie.
Bobbi: Waking up at a reasonable time on a Sunday, watching CBS Sunday Morning, going for a six mile walk while listening to a podcast, calling my parents, then going on a movie date.
10. What’s one fear you’ve had to push through to get where you are today?
Folayan: The fear of judgement. When you share your art you have to be okay with how it’s taken by people who consume it.
Bobbi: It’s a fear I still have, putting yourself out there to be judged.
11. “Jungle” flips “My Neck, My Back (Lick It)”. What made you want to take on something that bold, and how did you make it fully yours?
Folayan: Shout out Oak Feeder, Marky Style and Ellrod. We wanted something sexy and grown because we’re sexy and grown. And what better than this anthem.
Bobbi: I’ve always wanted to be more expressive and in touch with my sensual side. Flyana Boss has always been a great avenue for that and this song takes it to the next level. Shout out to Khia.
12. The track feels louder, wilder, and completely unfiltered. What headspace were you both in when making it?
Folayan: Because our mothers blessed us with our young looking genes, people think we’re not of age. But we wanted it to be known that we are grown and sexy.
Bobbi: Honestly, it was similar to how we usually make songs. We were just trying to one up ourselves with the best bar possible.
13. There’s a real take what you want energy running through the song. How intentional is that confidence, and how much of it comes naturally?
Folayan: This is all just an exaggeration of who we actually are. It’s all very intentional.
Bobbi: I’m always coming for what’s mine.
14. Your chemistry has always been a huge part of what makes Flyana Boss work. How do you balance that playful energy with actually locking in?
Folayan: Our creativity thrives when we’re in a playful space. Life is so unseriously serious. We lock in playfully.
Bobbi: Our playfulness is embedded in who we are, but we both have big dreams so we know when to lock in.
15. The video turns something ordinary into full chaos pretty quickly. What was the most fun or unexpected moment from that shoot?
Folayan: All the Boss Burger merch we got to take home. Now maybe we actually will open a burger joint.
Bobbi: Probably the eggs for balls and sausage for dick!
16. You’ve built a world that feels very you. Funny, sharp and a bit unhinged. How do you protect that as things get bigger?
Folayan: Our sisterhood creates a good barrier of protection. We can always come to each other for peace of mind.
Bobbi: Manifesting a world of Afrofuturism, surrealism and unabashed woman and queer empowerment.
17. From “You Wish” to now, the growth has been fast but deliberate. What have you sharpened the most as artists?
Folayan: Navigating the industry. It’s a skill and we’re getting better at it.
Bobbi: We’ve become more poised as artists and more settled in our womanhood.
18. “Jungle” feels like the start of another level. What does this next chapter of Flyana Boss look like?
Folayan: GROWN AND SEXXXYYYYYYY… and still fun.
Bobbi: Bigger, better, faster, global.
