How to start doing your own nail art at home
Those of you who love heading to the salon to get your nails done, know just how beautiful nail art can be.
Despite the fact that salons have been closed and many have been unable to get their beauty fix, there are so many cute, colourful and fancy designs you can do yourself at home! Simply pick up some nail art kits, and you’ll be on your way to having beautiful talons in no time.
Chase the rainbow
For all the colour lovers out there, this is a quick and easy way to boost your mood! The rainbow nail trend is huge over on Instagram at the moment, and it’s set to be with us throughout the summer months. Many are opting for hues of pastel blue, pink, yellow, mint green and lilac across each finger, but if you don’t fancy creating a rainbow on each individual nail, you can do each one in a different colour.
Cow, zebra and leopard print nails are so much easier than they look, especially if you have the right equipment. The whole point of an animal print is that it doesn’t look completely uniform, so if your hands are a little shaky or you’re a little messy, it’s an easy look to nail!
Although French tips are a classic, why not shake it up and do colourful tips instead! Whether you use tip guides, which you can pick up off Amazon for next to nothing to keep it tidy, or if you want to try it free hand, it’s a super cool way to add a splash of colour to the end of your talons.
Get sticky with it
If you’re not a big fan of experimenting with different nail polishes or nail art brushes worry not, when in doubt reach for the nail stickers. Apply onto bare nails or a single shade across each nail and stick on! It’s by far the easiest way to feel like you’ve just stepped out of the salon with a fresh manicure! Think minimal effort with maximum impact.
Treat yourself in lockdown
No matter whether you regularly head off to have your nails done or not, giving yourself a salon worthy manicure is a good way to give yourself a bit of “me” time.
