Alt-rock band Depression, Baby unveil their new single In My Blood from their forthcoming EP, So What?

For high-energy 4-piece band Depression, Baby, music is all about diving into the introspective. Since their formation back in 2019, the group has gone from strength to strength — featured on BBC Introducing and selling out their headline gigs. Now, with their latest release, In My Blood, they are even more reflective and vulnerable; exploring a point of isolation where everything felt dim. In particular, it was the live shows that made the band gravitate towards the sound explored on In My Blood, opting to dive further into the ‘big energy songs’ they played on tour.

“The song was built off the demo made by Dan during a long period of isolation in my flat in January this year,” explain the band when asked about the inspiration behind the track. “I don’t know if it was because the new year didn’t have its usual sense of opportunity due to the sorry state the country was in, or that I was just freezing because I hadn’t had the heating on for a week, but I wanted a song that had energy and life. I wanted to deal with some things I’d been feeling for a while but also remind myself that I’ve been down before and made it out ok so why wouldn’t it be the same this time?”
