LA-based indie pop act Jazzie Young drops vibrant visuals for sultry number “Cigarettes & Heartbreak,” taken from her debut EP 27 club. 

The music video elevates the heartache and longing of the nostalgic track which delves into the end of a relationship and is infused with retro vibes brought to life in reddish orange hues. In particular, cigarettes & heartbreak encapsulates intimacy and passion while also capturing the numbing loneliness that accompanies you when you’re struggling to let go of something that was once love.

Directed and edited by Shelby Parks, with Jazzie herself serving as the executive producer, creative director, and stylist, the cinematic video has been created by all-female team, who have every inch of the visual – from set design to styling and lighting – with intricacy and nuance.

The daughter of Jesse Colin Young, lead singer of iconic band The Youngbloods, Jazzie Young’s life has been wrapped around with music. Having started her own journey into music only 2019, the rising singer has managed to craft a niche for herself with her emotive and enticing pop sensibilities alongside colourful, narrative-driven videos – just as she has served up on her debut project.
