You don’t have to be a political analyst to understand that we are living in troubling times. Wars and conflicts continue to rage around the world, and the world itself is shaken by climate change and associated catastrophes, fires and floods. Each one of us wants to change the world, but at times we feel powerless to do so. If the world’s most powerful countries and most powerful armies can’t seem to move the needle, then what chance does any of us have of doing so?
I believe that each one of us can make the world a better place by changing ourselves. By adopting spiritual practices, we can all change one person at a time. Best of all, these spiritual practices can easily be adopted into one’s personal daily routine. Anything is possible.
Oneness is Key
Often we see ourselves as being separate from each other. This creates a dynamic where we stand in opposition to the universe. There is a kind of self-importance in this. We see ourselves as being more significant. But in order to make true change, we must eliminate this opposition. Acceptance, surrender, and Oneness are key to making the kinds of changes we want to see.
Oneness does lead to a state of lasting happiness. Trust me, as a teacher who has led dozens of working groups and reached thousands of students, this is real. By eliminating your internal resistance, you can become spiritually enlightened. By awakening your inner consciousness, you can begin to make real change. Oneness means that all human beings are interconnected. We need to cultivate that spark that is in each one of us. This will bring us peace, joy, fulfillment.
Tools for Transformation
There are different ways to cultivate inner peace and transformation. Probably the best known way is through various Meditation Techniques. These offer the opportunity to improve clarity, focus, and productivity, and to restore emotional balance and harmony. At Oneness University, we offer a whole breathwork and meditation program that will allow you to deepen inner peace. Through meditation, one can also balance one’s Chakras, which are focal points used in a variety of ancient meditation practices. Another tool for transformation is Kundalini Yoga, which through a variety of positions and exercises helps to direct energy flow through the chakras.
Another powerful tool for transformation is the Moola Mantra: “Om Sat Chit Ananda Parabrahma Purushothama Paramatma Sri Bhagavathi Sametha Sri Bhagavathe Namaha.”
This potent Sanskrit mantra evokes God, and asks for protection and freedom from all sorrow and suffering. By reciting the Moola Mantra, one can connect with the divine.
The Power of Deeksha
Deeksha is a Sanskrit word that means something like “initiation” or “divine grace.” At its core, Deeksha is an energy transmission that awakens the dormant spiritual potential within each individual and aims to connect the recipient with their higher self or divine consciousness.
Two people are needed to conduct a Deeksha session. During a session the Giver places their hands on the head of the Recipient or just looks into their eyes with a focused gaze. Givers are typically those who have undergone training at Oneness University and who have learned how to channel and transmit Oneness to Recipients. Deeksha increases self-awareness and inner peace, reduces stress and anxiety, enhances creativity and problem-solving abilities, and offers one a greater sense of connection to others and the universe. Often Recipients feel a surge of energy following a session. For others, it takes time for the changes to manifest.
Deeksha is a central practice in the Golden Age Movement, which offers teachings and practices to support enlightenment, and is at the core of Oneness University’s teachings.
Serve Your Community
One way to change the world is through serving your community and spreading the teachings of oneness and Deeksha. This is not a career path, but more of a calling to spread transformative teachings with others, out a sense of purpose and commitment to spiritual growth.
Becoming a teacher does require some personal investments. You need to undergo significant spiritual growth first, and to develop an understanding of Oneness teachings. You also should be experienced with Deeksha. A teacher should be gifted in communication and be selfless as well.
A New Golden Age
Changing ourselves through meditation, yoga, mantras, and Deeksha, we can lay the foundations for a new golden age, one characterized by peace, love, and understanding. And if we go out and share these teachings and practices, we can inspire others to live better lives.
As you start to integrate these changes into your life, remember that the path to enlightenment is a journey, not a destination. It requires dedication, perseverance, and a willingness to embrace the unknown. Together we can make the small changes that will change everything.
