There’s something fitting about seeing Nat and Alex Wolff on the road again. For many, the brothers were once inseparable from childhood, familiar faces on screens throughout the late 2000s and early 2010s, but over the years the duo have steadily carved out a creative identity far beyond nostalgia. Their evolution as musicians has been particularly compelling, marked by a willingness to grow, experiment, and document the shifting realities of adulthood through deeply personal songwriting.
When 1883 last spoke to the pair for their December 2024 cover story, they were in the midst of a whirlwind run opening for Billie Eilish’s HIT ME HARD AND SOFT tour, balancing relentless travel schedules with the release of new music. At the time, they reflected on the long journey from their 2011 debut Black Sheep to more recent releases like ‘Table For Two’, speaking candidly about the years spent refining their sound and finding confidence in their artistry.
Since then, Nat and Alex have continued that momentum with the release of their self-titled album earlier this year, a project that feels both intimate and expansive while capturing the chemistry and creative bond that has defined them from the beginning.
For our latest On Tour With feature, Nat and Alex Wolff have penned an exclusive diary for 1883 Magazine from their time on the road supporting the Grammy-nominated artist, Alex Warren.

It’s times like these I’m really happy I fought to have my name go before Alex’s in the band name.

First sound check of tour with the band. Alan (on bass) we’ve been playing with for years. Boris (not in picture), we’ve been playing with since we were 12 and 9 years old. And this is our first tour with Korey (drums). Love this band. Fantastic humans and ridiculous musicians.

The best part of being in a band with your brother is getting to spend so much time with your brother.

This is us doing a semi club remix of a song we wrote for “the naked brothers band” called ‘crazy car’ when we were little kids.

Us performing our song ‘Soft Kissing Hour.’ Watching the massive room fill with lights was an out of body experience.

Alex plays 1,000 different instruments during this show. Electric guitar, keyboard, drums, and acoustic. He’s trying to win an award for most instruments played onstage by one person.

The stage set up allows us to get up close and personal. The audiences have been unbelievably generous and loving and warm.

Nat never wore these particular sunglasses onstage after this show because the frames were so dark that the entire first song he couldn’t see. You live, and you learn. Pro tip: lighter sunglasses on stage.
Keep up to date with Nat & Alex Wolff at @natandalex.
