The latest in new music from Monster Florence, Stella Explorer, Sad Night Dynamite, Little Fuss & more on this week’s 1883 playlist.

On Rotation this week is 24-year-old artist BNXN fka Buju has been gaining a lot of momentum since he collaborated with WizKid in 2021. He was included on Obama’s summer playlist and most recently he’s dropped the lush single In My Mind. Go have a listen. Pop superstar Madison Beer has teased a sneak peek of her forthcoming second new album with her latest single Dangerous. The track makes for an elegant return for the world-dominating artist as it boasts beautiful strings, serene vocals and delicate piano. You can catch Beer at Reading & Leeds festival this weekend. The exciting Essex-based hip-hop collective Monster Florence have just dropped their new single Relax which features renowned poet, John Cooper Clarke. Comprised of Alex Osiris (vocals), Dream Mclean (vocals) Wallace Rice (vocals), Tom Donovan (production, guitars, keys, programming), Jonny Poole (sax, keys, guitar), and Cameron Morrell (drums), It’s the group’s first release after a two-year hiatus. It’s a raw and unapologetic tune. Stella Explorer is a rising singer-songwriter and producer. She’s been making waves thanks to her unique combination of intoxicating vocals and clever production. The artist’s debut EP Dorkay House is out now and we’d highly recommend you give House Arrest a listen. 

Elsewhere in the playlist, we’ve included the genre-defying duo Sad Night Dynamite’s latest single What Does That Make Me? as they’ve just dropped the visuals for the song. Under the moniker Sad Night Dynamite, Archie Blagden and Josh Greacen have spent the last few years crafting their utterly distinctive bodies of work. Listen to their latest project Volume II and you’ll be addicted to their sound which traverses hip-hop, psychedelia, and more. American artists Olivia Martinez and Cody Von Lehmden make up the indie art-pop duo Little Fuss and the pair have released the first glimpse of their forthcoming concept album Girls At Parties which will drop later this year. The title track of the project is a cinematic and avante-garde experience which is effortlessly cool thanks to its slick production, interesting lyricism, and strong vocals. The duo are inspired by the likes of Bowie, Bush and a once-scandalous Paul Cezanne painting. 

Finally, Grace Grundy is certainly an artist to keep an eye on and she’s treating us to another slice of ethereal pop with her new single Headspace. A song which was penned during a freak snowstorm which caused the singer to get stuck in London. Alongside the single drop, the rising artist has also revealed the lyric video for tune showcases her artistic flair as she creates a huge mural with only black paint and pens. Grundy’s debut EP With You In Mind is out via All Points/Believe on September 23rd.
