It’s the bank holiday weekend and you’re going to need some new music to accompany whatever you’re up to. On rotation this week is About Damn Time, the new single from the Grammy Award-winning singer, songwriter, rapper, and actress, Lizzo. It’s a slice of sleek R&B with strong vocals, slinky bass and an 80s dance beat. The global superstar has also just announced her forthcoming sophomore album SPECIAL which lands July 15th. It’s another Lizzo classic. HEALTH are a noise rock trio from LA. They’ve been building a dedicated fanbase over the last 17 years thanks to their experimental soundscapes. Taken from the new album DISCO4 :: PART II, NO ESCAPE (Featuring The Neighbourhood) is an infectiously melodic single. The track features lush vocals from HEALTH’s Jake Duzsik and The Neighbourhood’s Jesse Rutherford. Singer-songwriter Murkage Dave has just dropped his new single, World I Want To Live In. It’s an organ-led tune that explores the importance of being able to put ourselves in each other’s shoes. It’s a gorgeous track that demonstrates Dave’s gift for penning thought-provoking lyrics. Iris Garrison and Alex Harwood make up the New York-based duo, Bloomsday. Their new track ISO is full of serene vocals and delicate acoustic guitar. Make sure you check out their debut album, Place To Land when it arrives on June 10th via Bayonet Records.
Elsewhere, the Australian band Eliza & The Delusionals are gearing up to release their debut LP, Now and Then on May 20th. They’ve just dropped the latest single, Halloween. It’s a shimmering indie-rock tune with dreamy vocals and twinkling guitars. Rising Scottish artist Kirsty Grant has released her second single of the year with Quick Fix. It’s a mellow pop ballad that focuses on the healing process after a relationship ends. Finally, Swedish House Mafia’s new LP Paradise Again is out now. So make sure to check out their collaboration with The Weeknd on Moth To A Flame, especially as the renowned DJs will be headlining to Coachella festival on Sunday.
