The latest in new music from itoldLexi, Greentea Peng, Phoebe Green, Cloth & more in this week’s 1883 On Rotation playlist.
On rotation this week is the new single from R&B and soul artist itoldLexi. The Chicago-born singer is back with “Time” – an electronic-tinged track with lush vocals and slick production. You can expect to see Lexi on more stages next year. Next up, Franc Moody are back with another irresistible dance tune entitled “Bloodlines”. It’s the second single to be lifted from the duo’s forthcoming new record Chewing The Fat which lands on March 7, 2025. The inimitable Greentea Peng has announced her forthcoming sophomore album Tell Dem It’s Sunny which releases on March 21 next year. Alongside the news, she has shared the album track, “One Foot”. It’s a glorious concoction of dynamic vocals and mesmerising instrumentals. Manchester solo artist better joy has released the song “What A Day”. It’s a stellar indie track with warm production and tells a story of generational trauma. You can catch better joy on her first headline UK tour in 2025.
Elsewhere in the playlist, Phoebe Green has released the magnetic tune, “Precious Things”. It’s a fantastic alt-pop tune about the complexities of obsessive love. Go watch Phoebe on her UK tour in April. The Grammy award-winning songwriter and producer James Blake has released the live performance video for his stunning and melancholic track, “Like The End”. James will be heading to London for two sold-out piano shows on December 18 and 19. Rising artist Stella Rose is back with the dramatic and suspenseful rock single, “HollyBaby”. It’s the title track of her forthcoming EP which lands on December 13. Finally, Glasgow-based sibling duo Cloth have released the effortlessly cool track “Polaroid”. It’s full of serene, The XX-esque vocals, vibrant strings, and infectious indie instrumentals. Don’t sleep on this act.
