Red Bull Photography Academy

Red Bull Photography Academy??? Well not quite, but that’s what they should have called Red Bull’s foray into the world of photography. But, TBH, it goes a little bit deeper than that.

The creative industries have always battled with issues around diversity and inclusion, with recent studies showing that only 13% of creative jobs are filled by people of colour and just 17% being made up of the LGBTQI+ community. Additionally, the lack of diversity within the industry only reflects one white, male-dominated story as globally, 80% of photography students are women—yet to this day they account for only 13% of professional photographers.

In response to these deficiencies, Red Bull, in partnership with the Positive View Foundation are looking for the next generation of photography talent (aged 16-25) ready to redefine the industry, through the launch of a new programme ‘Depth of Field’.

The summer-long photography programme aims to champion young, underrepresented talent that will transform their lives and careers through photography. With ten spots available, each successful applicant will be given mentorship, skills training and unprecedented, hands-on experience at some of the biggest Red Bull sports and music events, such as the London Sevens rugby tournament, Goodwood Festival of Speed and Red Bull Soap Box Race.

Entries are now open here, so don’t wait till you grow some wings, get involved NOW!
