Easter Is Here: The Best Things About The Weekend

The bank holiday weekend is almost upon us and with those extra two days away from work it’s the perfect opportunity to make the most of spending time with loved ones.

There are tons of activities we associate with Easter. For many, it’s a religious festival in which we visit church and spend time with loved ones. For others, it’s all about the chocolate. Either way, it’s a wonderful time of the year and there is plenty you can be enjoying both alone or with friends and family…

Afternoon in the Countryside

If you’re lucky enough to have the countryside on your doorstep, Easter time is always the best time to get out and make the most of nature and that fresh air. With Spring starting to come through, you’ll find the trees starting to sprout leaves and flowers, while daffodils line pathways. Spring brings out the colour and in turn can’t help but lift your mood.

It’s a season that brings hope and new life, and there’s very little that tugs at the heartstrings quite like lambs and calves out in the fields following their mothers around.

Easter Bingo

Many of us have become huge bingo fans over the past 12 months and you can bring that love into the Easter period and make it a really fun activity with Easter Bingo.

Released by Moon Bingo to celebrate the occasion, Easter bingo features a range of activities and items you associate with the festivities which must be marked off across the weekend. It’s a great way to add a bit of friendly competition to the bank holiday, and can be played by your household or with friends worldwide, with a Zoom catch-up at the end of Easter Sunday to see who has managed to complete their bingo card.

Hot Cross Bun Baking

With that extra bit of time available it’s a great opportunity to get into the kitchen and Easter is most certainly the time of the hot cross bun.

The traditional sweet bun has a long association with this time of year and they’re relatively simple to make too. You’ll find dozens of great recipes online through the likes of the BBC Good Food blog and a number for YouTube tutorials too so you really can follow the entire process step by step and create the perfect hot cross buns.
